Beauty, grace, bravery and wits may be the makings of a Disney princess, but there’s a whole lot more beneath the surface.
Over the years, fourteen women have lent their voices to bring Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Mulan and many others to life.
We all can probably recognize a Disney princess by her voice, but have you ever thought who voiced the character? Well, go through this list and i am sure you’ll be amused!
1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:
The first Disney princess to start this trend way back in 1937.
Behind the Snow White was Adriana Caselotti, She signed a very strict contract that didn’t allow her to sing in other movies.
As we can see from the reports she was paid just $20 for each day of work in a total of $970 ($15,913 as per today). Not only that she also signed a contract with Disney, which prevented her from working elsewhere. Disney didn’t wanted her distinct voice to appear in another work and tarnish his pristine princess.
2. Beauty and the Beast:
It was the first ever movie to feature a brunette princess! And as you have noticed, she was the only person in her town appearing in blue dress. That was done on purpose to show her different from everyone else.
Behind Belle was Paige O’Hara. In the audition for the part of Belle, Paige O’Hara’s hair flew on her face and she quickly tucked them back. The animators ended up loving this and they used that in the movie!
