A new mother and father were furious to discover the way their newborn was being treated at the hospital where they had given birth.Baby Yohanne Noval was at the Cebu Puericulture Centre and Maternity House (CPMH) in the southern Philippines, when his parents walked into his room to be shocked by what they saw. Their baby had his mouth taped shut, the tape stuck to his lips.
Yonanne Noval Was Crying Too Loudly
When parents Ryan Noval and Jasmine Babocdoc asked nurses what was going on, they told them that their baby was crying too loudly. The baby wanted milk and the nurses did not want to hear his cries. The parents demanded that the tap be removed.
The nurse first told Yohanne’s parents to remove the tape themselves, but when they insisted, the nurse ripped off the tape with a piece of the baby’s lips sticking to it. The baby cried out in pain. Noval warned, “if you think your new born babies are safe, think again. Your babies could be silent victims and you will never really know about it!!!’
Noval posted a picture of Yohanne with the tape on his mouther, with the caption, “Meet my son Yohannes Noval!. He cannot speak about his horrific experience from the attending nurse’s hands inside Maternity Hospital’s nursery…..so we have to speak out for him.”
Mom Babocdoc posted to her Facebook, “When I checked on my baby,he peed on his diaper and needed to be changed so I did,’ she wrote. ‘That was probably the reason why he’s been crying and [the nurse] didn’t check on him,but just put the tape/plaster on his mouth so he’d keep quiet.”
An investigation is being conducted of Cebu Puericulture Centre and Maternity House (CPMH) in the southern Philippines. This is unacceptable behavior that needs to be dealt with. Yohanne’s parents plan to sue the nurse or nurses who did this to their son.
